Know More About Ken Ketner
Kenneth (Ken) Ketner was born in Los Angeles California. His early successes and struggles would formulate his personality and commitment to others, from which he grew. As a young child he became stricken with a debilitating bone disease and with the help of Children’s Hospital and many others he turned this negative into a positive. He was honored by being named the California Easter Seal child of the year. He recovered and went on to lead a normal life but always remembered the people who helped him.
After attending Cal Poly Pomona Mr. Ketner started
a career in the securities industry as retail stock broker for a New York Firm.
He became involved in several charities and civic organizations doing public
service in his community. At one of those events he was approached about
financing a local fire station which would change the path of his career. He
was successful in that endeavor and then started obtaining public financing for
small municipalities that were overlooked. Mr. Ketner started his own firm at
that point and provided various forms of financing for a diversified group of
entities. One of those sectors was the building industry for which his firm
provided equity and joint ventures opportunities for home builders. Eventually
Mr. Ketner became a licensed contractor and began building sub-division himself
in Southern California.
California was facing a property tax crisis when a
member of the California State Assembly approached Mr. Ketner about running for
public office and assisting the community. Mr. Ketner accepted that
responsibility and was elected to the Board of Trustees for Chaffey Community
College where he was recognized both on the local and state levels for his
contribution to higher education.
At this point Mr. Ketner used his experience that
he had obtained from the public securities markets, his home building and his
public service to formulate a career that over the next twenty five plus years
would assist many companies and individuals in obtaining and fulfilling their
financing needs.
Over the years Mr. Ketner has continued his
involvement in civic and charitable organizations in his community and
statewide. One of his current passions, where he sits on the Board, is an
organization called “Let’s be Frank about Cancer” which is endorsed by the City
of Hope.
Mr. Ketner resides in Orange County California
with his wife Cheri. They have been married almost thirty years and have raised
four daughters together. They are blessed with five grandchildren.
